How We Work / Medical Devices

State-of-the-art medical devices

Since they are often used 24-hours a day, it is vital that medical devices such as delivery pumps are designed to be safe, easy to use and comfortable in order to help minimise limitations on patient mobility and independence. These are highest priorities for both, the people relying on medical devices as well as for healthcare and caregivers.

At Danone Research & Innovation, our engineers continuously search for new ideas and design improvements, working closely with external partners, users, suppliers and manufacturers, to lower the ‘barriers’ for tube nutrition feeding and to keep our medical devices portfolio state-of-the-art.

Our international teams of engineers and partners are specialised in plastics ‘development’ (e.g. injection moulding, blow moulding, extrusion and assembling), mechatronics for pump design and in user interaction (ergonomics, safety, convenience, user interface design). They ensure our products are designed to the highest quality according to international standards and regulations.

User insights are an important part of our design process.

Input for new ideas and improvements are initiated through a close relationship between our Development team and internal and external stakeholders. We use market feedback, user insights, new materials and production methods to improve our products and feed our innovation pipeline offering the best possible care to our customers.
