The Nutricia Metabolics Research Fund will again make €170,000 available in 2018 to encourage nutrition and/or dietary management-related research in inborn errors of metabolism (IEM). All healthcare professionals active in the field of IEM are eligible to apply to the Fund. A Scientific Advisory Board composed of a group of senior metabolic experts will review and score the submissions against set criteria.
Nutricia established the Fund in 2016. In 2017 the Nutricia Metabolics Research Fund received applications from 60 researchers spanning 19 countries.

About the application
Applications are sought from investigator-initiated projects (pilot trials, scientific research, pre-clinical, clinical studies) related to nutrition and/or dietary management in the field of inherited metabolic diseases. All professionals active in the field of IEM, including but not limited to dieticians, clinicians and post docs, working with an institution or company active in the field of IEM can participate in this grant application. However endorsement by the head of the metabolic centre/institution where the research shall be undertaken is required.
